algae control also. breaks the thermal layers and brings cool water to the surface. good for summer, but geese flock to the open pond in the winter.

And I have to add that the pond is treated with chemicals to keep it weed and algae free so aeration is a must for the fish and for the health of the pond itself.
The pond is drawn down and cleaned out about every 5 years so the bottom isn't filled with silt. It's work, but it's a hell of lot cheaper than having a pool

BTW-- Rod you need to come back and enjoy the "relaxation station" in the pond and the use of the jacuzzi after a relaxing soak and a few top self drinks.

AHHHHH it's been used many times for a little skinny dippin I have speakers mounted around it and a few well placed lights to set a mood. The mood is determined on who your skinny dippin with.
